A Japanese and Italian fusion food venue reopens

Connoisseurs of fusion food – particularly of the unusual variety – have a new reason to spend their evenings in Kemang, with the reopening on June 9 of Trattoria IL Sale Italian and Japanese Resto at Jl. Kemang Raya No.15. Those attending the reopening party were treated to a new, cozy look and feel to the restaurant as well as a new menu featuring unique fusions of Italian and Japanese cuisine.
The restaurant’s new owners, Margono Lismanto and Atik Wikarta Suryaatmadja, have added dishes such as Potato Mentaiko Cheese (baby potatos baked with mentaiko, the marinated roe of Pollock, and cheese), Pizza Al Pollo Salsiccia (pizza with chicken sausages, mushroom and black olives), Spaghetti Katayaki Seafood, and many more. They have also included rice dishes for Indonesian customers who are looking for rice, but with unusual ingredients blending Italian and Japanese ingredients.
Long-time favorites on the menu are still there, such as Spaghetti Capasanta e Nova di Merluzzo, a spaghetti dish mixed with mentaiko and nori, the Japanese name for various edible seaweeds. They also offer spaghetti with wasabi. Kharina Triananda
